22 pump action

2016/7/22 9:17:18

Question
I have a wards western field 22 pump action model #81 sb508a. I wanted to see if you could tell me about this gun. Age, value etc.

Answer
Larry,

The firearm in question was actually manufactured by the Savage Firearms Co. (for Wards) from 1929 to 1967. Rifles made prior to WWII had an octagon barrel and after the war was made with a round barrel. It also came with a checkered walnut stock until "post war" which it then was mfg. in only a plain stock.

This rifle if in "good" condition would have an approximate retail value of $200 to $250.

I hope this helps and thank you for the question Larry.
