Question
What would the value be for this rifle? Product # 61463L71
Answer
Richard,
Value all depends on condition and originality. Assuming you have a Safari Grade and not a Medallion or Olympian Grade. The rifle is worth up to $1300 if it is like new in the box. The rifle you have maybe a salt wood stock which would decrease the value significantly.
Your rifle is not an A-Bolt, but it is one of the three grades listed above and it was made in 1971 as evident by the 71 after the L in the serial number. You can tell the grade by the amount of engraving on the receiver. No engraving means it is a Safari Grade, Some engraving on the receiver and blued receiver means it is a Medallion Grade. A grayed rec'r with animal game scenes engraved on it means you have the Olympian. The 1971 rifles have the short extractor as opposed to the long extractor. Most collectors prefer the long extractor first for their collections, however the short extractors are beginning to catch up. Hope this helps.
