I would like to get a little information on a rifle I have aquired ...I am told it is a Browning FN Masuer in a 270 cal ...the markings on the rifle say 7L39745 of cousee it says it was made in Belgium ...the triger guard and door at the bottom of the magazine has some gold engraving ..the stock appreas to have hand checkerd forearm and hand grip but does show some wear from use...Monte Carlo style cheek rest...screws are clean and never look like they have been out of the gun ...bluing is still very nice ...any idea what and when it was made ..and I know condtion dictates value but based on my discription and idea as to value ..I paid $1000.00 about 4 years ago ..

Your rifle was made in 1967 and it is a Safari Grade Rifle. Value depends on condition and originality. A NIB .270 Safari Grade is running about $1400-$1550. Value goes down from there depending on scratches, dings, added pad, etc. Hope this helps.
