ITHACA 16 ga. Pump Shotgun

Question
I have an Ithaca Model 37 16 ga. pump shotgun in excellent shape with only a small chip out of wood stock near the trigger guard.
It is at least 60 years old. Is it a collectors item?
Answer
Don,
Short answer....... yes.
Longer version: The M37 was introduced in 1937 in 12ga. 1938 in 16ga., and 1939 in 20ga. It was manufactured by Ithaca until around 1987 however 16ga. guns were discontinued in 1973.
The "book value" indicates an approximate retail value of about $350 but I can tell you that in "my world" I often see them selling for much more depending upon gauge, condition etc.
There were also some skeet grades, trap grades, target grades, solid ribbed, military, deluxe solid rib, deerslayer, and many more, most of which are of higher value than the "Standard Grade".
I hope this helps and thank you for the question Don.
