Question
Harrington & Richardson Arms Co. Worchester Mass U.S.A. on top of barrel. .32 Cal. S & W CTGE on barrel side. Serial Number on front frame of pistol grip appears to be 312613. What can you tell me about this revolver?
Answer
Tom,
the Harrington and Richardson Inc. of Worcester, Massachusetts was founded in 1877 with its original arms being produced under the trade name "Aetna". Today the company is located in Gardner, Mass. In 2000 the Marlin Firearms Co. purchased H&R with new the company becoming "H&R 1871, LLC.
The company manufactured well over several dozen various models over the years, all with either model name and/or number. I can try to help you further by process of elimination (assuming that you have no model number or name) but would like some additional information to attempt same.
What is the finish (blue, nickle, etc.), is the barrel round or octagon, is there a hammer spur, are the grips wood, plastic, or rubber, is it double action or single action, how many rounds does the cylinder hold, is there a barrel rib, is the cylinder removable for loading, ......... and any other information that you think may be important.
I'm willing to try to help you further but without additional info, we are just "shooting in the dark" and that is not going to get you the answer that you are looking for.
