driving with concealed

Question
I am planning on driving from Oregon to Kansas & I have an Oregon Concealed Handgun License. Wondering what laws are or what trouble I could get in going through Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, & Kansas??

Answer
Annette,

You have no issue traveling through any of the states you mentioned.  Idaho, Wyoming and Kansas all permit loaded cased firearms in the vehicle.  Utah requires that the firearms be cased and unloaded.  Regarding concealed carry, Utah and Idaho recognize your permit.  Wyoming and Kansas do not.  I would not suggest that you attempt to keep a loaded concealed firearm on your person in those two states.  I would also suggest that you can keep a firearm in the passenger compartment, it just needs to be cased when in Wyoming and Kansas.

Hope this helps you out.  Have a great trip!

Regards,

Doug
