Question
Unable to find any info on a Deerfield Model 60j 16 ga. pump shotgun, Noble Manufacturing Haydenville, Mass. Any help would be most appreciated.
Answer
Ricky,
Your Deerfield Model 60j was actually manufactured as the Noble Model 60. Noble made shotguns for private label outlets as well as the ones they sold under their own model identification. They were in business from 1953 to 1971. Most of their shotguns were relatively inexpensive, good working, utilitarian guns. They are not considered to be collectable. Most of the shotgun range in value from $75 to $200 depending on the condition. Your shotgun was made between 1955-1966 based on the research I have seen. It was made in both 12 and 16 gauge and should have a hammerless slide action. They typically had a full choke unless the gun you have cane with an adjustable choke. Noble also private labeled this shotgun for Montgomery Wards under the Western Field brand. It was sold as the Model 565F.
Not too much more to tell unless you have other specific questions...
Best regards,
Doug
