Pump .22

2016/7/22 9:16:04

Question
Bob,
Lately, I've had a hankering to get my hands on a .22 pump-action rifle. The only manufacturer I have found is Henry, and they seem a bit pricey, at least on the pump-action. Are there any other manufacturers producing pump-action .22s?
Thanks,
Jim

Answer
Hi Jim.

You might want to look at some of the Taurus rifles. They have two models available in .22 LR pump action. Taurus firearms tend to be priced better than other similar guns and they carry a lifetime warranty. Here is the link to their products page:

I particularly like the M62R-SS which should be available for roughly $250-$350 depending on your local dealers.

If you want to save a bit more money then you might consider buying a used rifle. You can find and purchase many different models from various auction sites including those listed below. Just search on "22 pump" and you should find some good results:

Another alternative which I find similar to a pump action is the lever action. These are very fun to shoot and they have a similar old western look and feel to them.

Of course the Henry guns are fine too so keep shopping and you might find a good deal on one. You can find a lot of new firearms on the auction sites too and sometimes the cost of shipping it to your local dealer will be offset by the lack of taxes and higher local prices so it often pays to buy online and have the firearm shipped in.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Bob
