inheriting a collection

Hi Jim, and thank you for your time.I am about to inherit a 30 gun rifle collection from my grandfather. He says they are all military rifles, which I am assuming are from the WW1 & WW2. I asked him what he wished I do with them, and he said I could sell them if I wished (I have no need for 30 rifles, as I already own 6 firearms). What would be the best way for me to sell them? Is there some kind of gun "bible" I should buy?

There are a number of ways to sell a collection. Be careful on shipping as there are a number of Federal Laws that you need to be aware of prior to shipping. The Blue Book of Gun Values is probably the most well known book on values. It is a generalized pricing for all types of weapons. Keep in mind certain things on a weapon make it worth more or less depending. The Blue Book is a GENERAL reference. I would suggest looking at various internet websites such as Gunsamerica, gunbroker.com, auctionarms.com etc. and get an average cost for the individual weapon. Sometimes/often times the prices are pretty high on these websites so don't automatically expect to get that price. Dealers are generally looking to make 30% or more when they purchase a firearm. Subsequently the seller takes a pretty good hit when they go that route. I have several WWII vintage pistols, rifles and shotguns and enjoy their history. Hope this helps.
