Question
I have inherited the above mentioned rifle. It's rough to say the least. It is missing the front stock and set screw. The rest of the rifle is there. Where could I look for a replacement? Serial number J 379.

Answer
David,
These were great little guns.
They were manufactured by J. Stevens between 1912 and 1933. Obviously they are quite old.
For parts, the usual place I check is http://www.e-gunparts.com as they have a very broad selection of old gun parts. Unfortunately, they are sold out of the pieces you are looking for. There is another guy you might check with. He doesn't list items online, but you can email him to see if he has them. Go to http://www.leesgunparts.com/
I also found an entire gun on GunBroker.com. The owner is asking $195 as a starting bid, but looking at the photos, it is probably not worth more than $250 at the very most.
You might also try a google search to see what that might turn up...
Sorry I can't be of more help but since these guns have been out of production for over 75 years, there just aren't a lot of sources for spares.
Cheers,
Doug
