Looking for a value

Question
I have a Remington .22 caliber rifle that was my grandfathers. It's a sportmaster model 341-P and has peep sights. It's marked 22 short, long or long rifle. The serial number is 124---. It's in very good condition and in perfect working condition. The shell ejector is different from any other I've seen before. It has two arms that project the casing upward. Can you possibly give me an approximate value of this weapon? Thankyou

Answer
Jay,

I am trying to stop answering value questions as there are just too many factors that can affect value.  Since I can't really see the condition of the gun, it is nearly impossible to give you anything better than a range of values.

Based on the 'blue book' values, a 341-P in 'new in box' condition today would fetch approximately $200.  In 80% condition-$75, in 90% condition-$100, in 95% condition-$125.

Unfortunately, that is about the best I can do without seeing the gun.  For your info, about 132,000 of these guns were produced between 1936 and 1940.

Hope this helps you out...

Regards,

Doug
