Stevens 22-410 replacement part

Question
I have a J. Stevens model 22-410 I inherited from my father in law about 30 years ago. I have fired this and it worked well. Then the selector switch (switch that slects 22 or 410) on the right side of the weapon broke off. I can see the selector arm inside the weapon but, do not know where to get the part or how to replace it. An help/suggestions you could give would be greatly appreciated. I am somewhat handy but not sure if the part replacement requires an expert or not.
Thanks in advance for your help
Jon
Answer
Hello Jon. I also inherited the same firearm from my father. It was my first gun. Mine came with plastic(not actual material) butt and forearm. The selector had been loose when I got it, but I thought it was supposed to be that way. It finally fell of and I was lucky to have noticed it. I took the butt stock off and repositioned the inside portion of the selector. I just screwed the button back on. That was over 30 years ago. It is still working fine. You should not have any problem. Parts are available from sources like Numrich Arms and many other web based sites. Just google Stevens Model 24 parts. Your gun is the early model.Hope this helps.
