Curious about a pistol.

Question
I am in the possession of a U S Revolver pistol.  Apparently a 32cal. hammerless.  The number on the trigger guard is 36824. Can you give me any more information about this weapon? Thanks

Answer
Hello Randy. You have an Iver Johnson Safety Revolver. Other than that, I invite you to do a little digging your self. I will start you off by directing you to the web site of EmpireArms. This is a very informative site titled 'Pre-1899 Firearms FAQ' by James Rowles, Clearwater Trading Company. I will, however, warn you about the 'edited' notes dealing with your revolver. In one place the editor recommends using a very small amount of modern smokeless powder in place of the original blackpowder cartridge re-loading process. This is highly 'Not recommended in any instance'. Now go do a little scratching for your self. you will like it when you find your own answers. Possibly you will be on our team here at AllExperts soon. Hope this helps. Charles Gage
