 Hello Shane. Your rifle is a Model 45. They also manufactured a shorter action  Savage Sporter Model 40. These models were manufactured from 1928 through 1942. Savage serial numbers are difficult to deciffer. Savage chose their serial numbers in a way that can escape the pinpointing of a specific serial number due to their reuse at any time. Your serial number seems to settles in the later part of 1942. Savage Arms can give you a closer, if not exact, date for a fee. I do hope this helps. Charles Gage
