Light Twelve

Question
I read your answer about a Light Twelve having the gold trigger and the standard having only the black trigger. I have a Light Twelve with a black trigger. Is it a "special", maybe factory defect, Light Twelve? Also, where can I find an accurate value of my Light Twelve?
Answer
JB,
Often times the gold on the trigger is completely worn off. If the shotgun is factory original and the trigger is indeed black, I suspect a mistake was made if "Light Twelve" is engraved into the receiver. The standard 12's were significantly heavier thant the light twelves. I have seen a factory original A-5 with Sweet 16 engraved in the side, yet it was chambered for 20 gauge. That particular shotgun was sent back to the Arnold, Missouri repair facility because it would not accept the 16 gauge shell.
Value.... Look at the Blue Book of Gun Values for a generalized source of value. Condition is first and formost followed by vent rib, pad or no pad, choke configuration, etc. Hope this helps.
