J Stevens Arms Company

I have a 12ga stevens single shot that my grandpa passed down to me. On the inside theres a LO 661 stamped on it.Could you tell the manufactures date? One side says J Stevens Arms Company and the other says Stevens Made in Chicopee Falls,Mass. What is it's value? Thank you, John WH

Hello John W H. It is a very great honor, to receive a gift from someone you admire. To you and your grandpa this shotgun is invaluable. However, to a collector, it has a very different value. My father-in-law gave me his old Crescent singleshot he got from his father. I would not trade it for anything. I killed my first gobbler with it at eighty paces.7 1/2 inch beard! I hope this information helps and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
