Handgun Control

Question
Is there a set of exercises for strengthening the muscles used to control handgun recoil? I have observed shooters using 45ACP pistols on the Outdoor channel who appear to be able to control recoil to perhaps one inch in rapid fire. I shoot occasionally with black powder revolvers and a 9mm Sig and would like to be able to have similar control. Thanks again.
Answer
Gordon,
There are no specific 'exercises' for this. The key is simply making sure you have a firm grip on the gun and allowing the non-shooting side hand to maintain a downward pressure on the gun as you shoot. This will minimize the upward movement of the muzzle and allow for more accurate follow up shots.
Google "Weaver Stance" and mimic the hand and arm position you see. This will help you a lot...
Best,
Doug
