Question
Belgian Browning .22L
Hi Jim
I have a Belgian Browning .22L Pump action Repeating Rifle. It appears that .22L cartridges are very hard to get. My local hunting shop says that a .22LR should be OK even though the barrel has only .22L stamped on it. I'm concerned about the additional length and pressure of the .22LR cartridge. I have an old Inglis Browning (Begian made) brochure that shows this same rifle (although it may be a newer model) and it lists .22 short, .22 long and .22 long rifle as acceptable cartridges. Do you think the .22LR would be OK to use in this Rifle or do you know of anyone who has tried this.
Thanks
Ron
AnswerRon,
I didn't know there was a difference between the .22l and .22lr. To be honest, I am not the person to ask as I do not shoot much, just collect. As long as it chambers and ejects safely, you could try the LR. I would suggest e-mailing Browning directly as they should be able to give you a better answer.
