Question
I cant make heads or tales out of these numbers and what they mean.  My A5 serial # is X82979 any idea when it was made?

Answer
Scott,

The numbers you provided are the serial numbers. Your shotgun was made between January and June of 1953. If it has the gold trigger it will probably have Sweet 16 written on the left side of the receiver. If it is a black trigger and does not have the Sweet 16 stamping then you have the standard grade. Hope this helps.
