Answer
Derek,
Here is what Connecticut state law says about discharging a firearm illegally.
Sec. 53-203. Unlawful discharge of firearms.
Any person who intentionally, negligently or carelessly discharges any firearm in such a manner as to be likely to cause bodily injury or death to persons or domestic animals, or the wanton destruction of property shall be fined not more than two hundred fifty dollars or imprisoned not more than three months or both.
I am not familiar with specific municipal laws in CT, but here in Arizona it is illegal to discharge a firearm within the city limits of any municipality. If you live in an incorporated city or town in CT, I would suggest you check the laws of your community. A quick call to the local police (non-emergency number) would probably give you the information you seek.
Based on what I know of CT law, unless you are out in the 'boonies', any discharge of a firearm on your property is probably illegal.
Best regards,
Doug
