Question
I have a savage model 20 in 250-3000 serial #11867. It was given to my uncle by city hall,I'm curious to know the age of the gun. The value is not important but if you want to take a guess, the gun is in good to very good condition. Please XX out the serial # before publishing
Answer
Hi Jeff.
First we need to determine the exact model number of your gun. The blue book lists many Savage guns but not anything listed solely as "20". The closest is a model 1920 but there are others which are similar. Take a look at this list and see if you can find yours:

My guess is that you have a model 1920 Bolt Action or model 1920-1926. Both of these guns were made from a Mauser type action in the .250-3000 Savage caliber. They were made from 1920 to 1931.
This link will bring up the serial number list but they do not list actual serial number ranges for most Savage guns:

If you want to know the value of your gun then you can purchase the blue book data online via the first link above.
Also, I am not able to edit your question to remove the serial number or make it private but you have nothing to worry about. They are common guns.
Hope this helps.
Bob
