Iver Johnson Part

Question
I have an Iver Johnson .22 revolver that was manufactured in Fitchburg, MASS which means it was manufactured between 1883 and 1984. The model number is K58468. I need a hammer and haven't been able to find one after searching the web for hours. The parts places with diagrams do not match the hammer in mine. Mine has a "moon" notch where the spring in the handle connects to the hammer but perhaps the most distinguishing characteristic is a rectangular notch on the other side of the hammer and is beside the hole in the hammer. Can you tell me anything about the age and where I possibly can find a replacement hammer? Many thanks.
Answer
Hello Charlie. Have you tried www.gunparts.com ? This is:
Bob's Gun Shop

Royal, AR. 71968
Phone and Fax are same# (501) 767-1970
He has alot of old gun parts and says he has 25 different hammers for Iver Johnson top-break revolvers. You might take some good quality photo's of your hammer and fax to him. I haven't done business with him, but this is the only source I could find. As far as the age, it is very hard to determine since these were made from the 1880's to 1940's without any serial number identity. I hope this helps answer your questions and thank you for asking for me .Charles Gage
