QuestionQUESTION: I have aquired a j stevens arms co.,chicopee falls, mass.,with no serial number. it has a number 20 within a circle on the barrel and breach area. it ia a tubular load. any ideas of age,value? at one time I remember a dealer saying this was a non-production model with a floating firing pin...but i may be wrong. any thoughts??
ANSWER: Hello Philip. You didn't say if it is a pump,bolt-action,simi-automatic ? In 1920, Savage Arms Corp. purchased the Stevens company and began production on these firearms under the name J. Stevens Arms Co. This specific title was dropped in the late 1940's to simply 'Stevens'. If this is a non-production model, I do not have access to any information on this. QUESTION: I have taken a couple of pics of the J.Stevens .22 we have been talking about and I sent the pic of the Remington .22 mdl# 341 that has some makes on barrel (letter U over the letters O E ). Hope this helps with any answers or even if it just spurs your thinkin'. These are neat .22's !

AnswerHello Philip.Your Remington Model 341 Sportsmaster was manufactured between 1936 and 1940. It was manufactured in three grades; A,P and SB.
