Hopkins & Allen double barrel shotgun

My husband bought a Hopkins & Allen double barrel shotgun today at a yard sale for $100.00. I can find general information on different websites but not value information. The gun is in good condition. Has the number 19951 on it. Can you suggest a value?

Hello Melba. Price is just about average. GUN SMITH ALERT!!! Most of the Hopkins & Allen shotguns manufactured in the early 1900's had a chamber of 2 9/16" and standard length for today is 2 3/4". These will not fire safely in the fore mentioned shotgun. Also, the barrels were generally made in the damascus form(they look like running water wrapped like a spiral from end to end) that WILL NOT safely fire the modern 2 3/4" shells. Get it checked by a competent licensed gunsmith before firing it. Later models of this shotgun were manufactured with regular steel and not damascus twisted steel barrels.Some will accept the 2 3/4" shells.If your shotgun fits this latter description, you will find the value to be a bit higher.I hope this answers your question and thank you for asking for me.
