hi i just recently been given few guns from my grandfather an he got it from his grandfather and i was just wondering if you could tell me the manufacturing date and approximate value. on the left side above the trigger it says ( Model 48 Topper H&R arms co.ltd drummondville P.Q. Canada ) on the top of the barrel it says proof tested-12 GA choked. behind the trigger there is a number 28995. and when you take the gun apart on the bottom of the barrel it says that same number again 28995.

Hello Kyle. An H&R Model 48 Topper is valued approximately $150.00 in very good condition. As far as dating it, the Topper model 48 began production in 1946. I have never read about Harrington & Richardson manufacturing any firearms out side of the United States, nor have I been able to turn up any reference of it.
