i was told that my ted williams mod 73 rifle was made by winchester for sears if this is so what differences would there be between the 2

Your rifle was made for Sears by Winchester. (Model 70)
Ted Williams was a house brand. House branding was used by most big department stores many types products.
There is no functional difference between your TW Model 73 and a Winchester model 70. The Ted Willians will not have the deep blueing and fancy wood the name brand has.
