Question
This pistol was mounted in a shadow box along with a picture of John Wayne. The only marking on it is an elongated triangle with the initials "BKA" and a "98" below the letters. It is a six bullet revolver type and the barrel bore appears to be about 11 cm. It appears to be a real pistol and I am curious about its age and manufacturer
Answer
Hello Gil Kerr. You have an actual 'Shadow Box' revolver. It is a non-functioning Model BKA98. Cast metal with wooden grips. It may have been provided with special 'cap ammo'. It was manufactured in Czechoslovakia. Some were used by MGM and other movie companies as prop's. It probably has an open barrel, cylinder and working hammer and trigger. If so, IT IS NOT MADE TO SHOOT REAL AMMUNITION!!!
It needs to be hung on the wall as it was intended. I hope this answers your questions and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
