J. Stevens Match Rifle

Question
22 caliber long rifle, single shot lever action. Cannot find a model number on it except for the numbers 244 under the lever action. On the side of the receiver is Trade Mark Stevens, US Registered Patent Office and FGN. The lever itself is broken and I would like to find a replacement and the Model number of the gun. I used the rifle in the 1950's to shoot competition in high school but would like to know the approximate age, if possible.
Answer
Hi Bob.
For parts try one of these places. You might have to call them since they often won't have all of their parts available online.

If they don't help you then try a local gunsmith which you can find in the yellow pages or ask around at a local gun club or public range.
For the age and value try these links:

Hope this helps. Good luck!
