Question
I just got this gun from my grand father and the only thing I know about it is that it is a 16 gauge double trigger gun how does the double trigger work? Do they each fire one chamber or can one fire both chambers at once

Answer
Hello Mike. Let's say you have an Improved Cylinder choke on one barrel and a Modified choke on the other. The back trigger will fire the Improved Cylinder first and the front trigger Modified second. This is so you can fire at, let's say,a pheasant. When it flies up in front of you, you want more spread of shot. Improved Cylinder does this. If you miss on the first shot, the second will go further out before the spread of shot, giving you a second shot that can reach further. The triggers are usually pulled rear first to minimize the risk of an immediate following unintentional rear trigger shot.Something like BamBam. If you hit with your first shot, good. If you actually do need a second shot, you just move up to the front trigger.GUN SMITH ALERT!! If both barrels fire at once, you need to let a professional gunsmith check it over. This Should Not Happen! I hope this answers your question and thank you for asking for me.Charles Gage
