NR Davis & Son Doublebarrel Shotgun

Question
Recently was given an old NR Davis side-by-side.  No model or gauge stampings; believe it 16ga., only other stamping is number 10525 on forearm casting and underside of chambers.  It was missing the main stock; at least a broken spring, and perhaps other mechanism parts. Savage(acquired Davis-Warner Arms) does not have parts; where in NJ;NY might I get it repaired a/o find an adaptable stock?

Answer
David,

I don't know anywhere specific in the NY / NJ area.  I'd check with a reputable gun dealer in your area for recommendations on people that restore antique firearms.

In terms of parts, I'd check the following online suppliers:

www.e-gunparts.com for any mechanism parts

www.gun-parts.com for the stocks.

Hope this helps you out.

Doug
