transporting firearms in the state of arkansas

since I do not have a concelled permit, what are the laws, regs of transporting my firearm.
for target practice .. for travel away from home ?

Not sure of laws there, but CA, which I think would be stricter than AK, allows you to transport to and from shooting as long as the gun and ammo are not together or accessible.  So, I would think that if you lock gun in trunk and have ammo in glove box you would be OK.  The spirit of the law is that you do not have immediate access to a loaded firearm.  By keeping the ammo and gun separate and having one in a locked container, this keeps within the spirit of the law.

If you call your local cops they should be able to let you know what the local requirement are.
