Hi Doug,

In M1911A1 and its clones, 7+1 means 7 in magazine and 1 chambered round.
Military version of Benelli M4 has 7+2 capacity. Please explain.

In this case, the +2 means something a little different.  The +2 in this case refers to a two round extension tube on the stock magazine tube.  The Benelli factory extension permits the barrel to be removed without removing the extension.  Some aftermarket extensions do not permit this...
