Ammo Type

Question
I recently inherited a Harrington & Richardson 7 shot .22 pistol with a S/N 3339L8 (on the handle).  On the top of the barrel is stamped: Harrington & Richardson Arms Co, Worcester Mass. USA (on 2 lines) On the left side the barrel is stamped 22 RIM FIRE.  I was recently told that it was manufactured between 1904 & 1915.  What type of ammo was it designed to shoot?

Answer
I am not familiar with this gun, but 22 comes in short, long and Mag, since Mag is the newest of the three I would not think it is a mag.  If the pistol with hold 22 long then it will shot it, if 22 longs are too long and stick out of the end of the cylinder then it only shoots shorts.

I would think, most 22 pistols take long or short.
