Bringing guns to another state

Question
Hi Dave,
My husband wants to trade a few of his guns for a motorcycle in Oregon. We live in Nevada and he has looked for information and it seems ok but he is still worried, do you know if this is ok for him to do this or where I could get information on it? He would not be selling them, just trading for the motorcycle. Thank you.
Answer
According to federal law, guns may only be shipped interstate from one FFL to another (Federal Firearms Licensee). So, your husband could go to a local gun store, which could ship the guns to a gun store in the other state for that person to pick up. The person who ends up with the guns in the other state would have a background check run on them by that gun store. The two gun shops would probably each charge a small fee. (It doesn't matter whether the guns are sold or they are traded.)
Hope this helps!
Dave
