remington model 4 6mm rifle

Question
My husband has a Remington Model 4 6mm rifle with scope and how do we know where to go to find out how much it is valued at? I have tried google but have not found anything. Do you have any suggestions? The gun is in excellent shape. I would appreicate any help you can give me.

Without photos or without seeing the gun it is very difficult to make an accurate grading of the gun.  What to a lay person might be 'excellent' might only be 'good' to a collector or gun appraiser.  That said, based on a gun of this type in good to excellent condition the range of values would probably in the $400 to $500 range without the scope.  The optics could add a little bit or a lot depending on the quality of the optics.  A high quality Leupold scope could add $200-$300.  A Bushnell might only add $100 or less depending on what it is.  

If you can tell me what type of scope, (brand and model) I can give you a lot better idea of the overall value.
