Question
Pistol
I recently acquired this pistol, and I was wondering if you could tell me anything about it, and maybe a value. On top of the cylinder it reads:
"PAT.FEB.2.92-FEB.4.96
BABY HAMMERLESS
PATENTS PENDING"
According to what little I could find the dates are 1892-1896. It's caliber is .22 short or medium. It also has pearl handles which I read that only about 25% of the pistols ever made had. It has a fold up wire trigger, and is in amazing shape for being as old as it is, according to the gun books I have I would place it in the 75-85% range.
Thanks, Sean
AnswerHello Sean. Seems you have done a little prospecting on this revolver. I was probably reading the same information you were. If not, I found very impressive information on a site called "SEEING EYE". There were references made to a publication "Baby Hammerless Revolvers" by Frank M. Sellers. Might want to look into getting one of these books to go with your gun. The prices I found for your gun, on several auction sites, hovered around $300.00 in the condition your may be. I hope this answers some of your questions and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
