How to find specific model

Hi,
I want to get a S&W revolver model a few years out of production.  I've been to several shops and even a show but can't find it.  Is there any way to find it other than just hit or miss such as I've been doing?

Put an add on craigslist or a card up at your local gun shops. There are few gun selling web sites if you seach (google) the gun you will get lots of hits and may find one somewhere or try and contact SW and see if they know of a way.

Find some sites that allow, a Wanted board and post what you want.
