QUESTION: Sorry, it's been sitting for about a year...worked fine the last time I used it...I just can't cock it like pulling back the whole top to see into the chamber...it's not really dirty or nothing ...last time shot fine
Answer
Could be the last time you shot it, since it was cleaned and oiled, like it should be every time you shoot, it may be just some corrosion, primer rust or just lots of dirt. Had you locked the slide back and just wiped it down, it would be easier to know that a round was not jammed in the barrel or jammed by some foreign object.
Regardless of cause you have to force the slide backwards to do anything, in order to get a look in side, so first I would make sure the magazine is removed, then with the gun on safe, shine a light in the barrel and see if you can see the firing pin or the hole where the firing pin comes out, that way you will not there is not a lodged round in the barrel. If you look down the barrel and there is a round, your danger goes up in the process of clearing but it still have to done.
You need to put some leverage on the barrel in order to dislodge it, so you can hold the gun like you were going to fire and then point the gun on the ground, bend over and actually put the gun barrel pointed straight into the ground (preferably carpet or a soft non scratch pad as to not mar or mess up the barrel or bluing) and then with all your weight try and force the barrel straight to china into the ground, this should cause the barrel to dislodge and force the top slide back a quarter of inch or so, then you should be able to pull the slide back and lock it to the rear and remove any junk and add some oil drops and then work the slide back and forth a few times, add some more oil to all moving parts and then work the slide some more.
Then you get your manual out, field strip it and give a good cleaning.
