Franchi 20 gauge shot gun

Question
I am looking for information on a Franchi 20 gauge shotgun. It is approximately 30 years old. I am looking for parts and have no idea what model the shotgun is. My problem is when I activate the slide action, the shell in the magazine does not release. If I shoot the gun, the shell in the chamber will fire and the shell in the magazine will transfer to the chamber when I pull the slide. Any information you can offer me would be greatly appreciated.
Answer
Hello Frank. You say when you 'activate the slide action'. Does this mean it is a pump action shotgun? I am not sure Franchi made a pump-action shotgun. Whatever the case, you can get parts from Bob's Gun Shop, on the web. There are also Numrich Arms and E-Arms. "GUN SMITH ALERT!!!" These shotguns were manufactured in Brescia, Italy and imported to the U.S.A. The internal mechanisms are fair, but not great. Therefore, you should have a competent licensed gun smith check it over. Then you will know what parts you need. I hope this answers your question and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
