Question
Hi,
I would like to know the value of a gun. It is a remington model 1100, serial #M842072V, It is a left handed gun. Purchase new in the 70's. with a ventlated rib barrel, takes 2 3/4 shells, on the barrel its stamped Remington Arms Co. Ilion, NY Made in the USA, also there is the word REP with an up arrow stamped above it & a G an a N a little down the barrel. Then on the other side there is a L05(this is hard to read). Hope all this helps.
Thank You
Bill
Answer
Hello Bill. The average value of your Remington Model 1100 is $300. "GUNSMITH ALERT!!!" The Serial number starting with the letter "M" means the receiver has an extended ejection port to handle the 3 inch magnum shells. The "REP" on the barrel indicate that the barrel is a "REPLACEMENT" and is "NOT" the original barrel that was supplied with this receiver from the factory. The barrel that is on it now will "NOT" shoot the 3" shells. I highly recommend having it checked by a competent licensed gunsmith. I hope this answers your question and thank you for asking for me.
