Walther PP 7.65

Question
I have a Walther PP 7.65 stamped Made in W. Germany. It also has an engraving saying "Interarms Alex, VA" on the side. On the left side it has a Coat of Arms with the letter "F" under it. On the right side there are the two eagles with the "n" under them one on the barrel and one on the slide. The serial # is 412896. I would like to know some of the history of this pistol and an estimated value. Thank You, Reba Shelton

Your Walther Model PP was a post war manufactured gun.  It was manufactured in the Walther factory, probably in Ulm.  It may actually reference that on the gun.  Interarms was an importer of a wide range of firearms headquartered in Alexandria, VA.  They were an importer of the Walther pistols from 1963 until the late 1990s.  The stampings on the gun, including the 'eagle-n' markings are proof marks from the proof houses that test the guns after manufacturer.  The 'eagle-n' stamping is typical on guns of this vintage.  A great many of these guns were manufactured for use by German police.  This gun could have been new or it could have been a police turn in that was reconditioned and resold.  There is no way to tell.

These are not particularly rare and depending on the condition might only be worth between $300-$400 if in good to excellent condition.  Since I can't look at the gun, there is no way of giving you an accurate valuation.
