gun serial number

hi. my dad has bought a gun from a really close friend here in Arizona and he wanted to know if the gun was dirty( bin used in a crime or so) and i wanted to find out where i can run the number online to see if the gun is clean. i went to  N.C.I.C. and L.E.A.D.S
but only has me going in circles. is there another easy way to run the serial number.

There is no means by which you can check a gun's serial number over the internet to see if it is on a law enforcement 'want' list.  You could call your local PD and ask them to see if the serial number has been reported stolen.  That is all you can really check.  I'm a little curious as to why your father might think the gun is 'dirty' if he bought it from a close friend.
