1915 Sprinfield 12 gauge shotgun

2016/7/22 9:08:25

Question
I am the owner of a Springfield 12 gauge double barrel shotgun with one trigger.  The only markings on this shotgun are patent pending on one side and patented April 20, 1915, on the other side. There are no other identification markings on this shotgun.  Could you please give me an estimated value of this shotgun?  Thanking you in advance...
Jerry Nolan

Answer
Both Crescent Arms and J Stevens Arms used the trade name Springfield.
I can't tell you which it is or which model it is.
If its the Crescent it worth $150 to $400 depending on condition and model.
If Stevens made double its worth $150 to $1850 depending model and condition.
I suggest you bring it to a expirenced local gunsmith.
They will be able to tell you what it is by its construction.

Sorry I can't help more.
