Question
I have a E. James & co. 10 gauge side by side rabbit ear shotgun in good condition. Don't see model number wondering about the history of the gun and its worth.
Answer
Hi,
Enos James & Co, was an English gun maker in Birmingham from 1877 to about 1900.

They were imported by HD Folsom in NYC.

There were quality guns at the time.
However they had damascus twist steel barrels.
It should be examined by a gunsmith to see if its useable.
These are unsafe with modern ammo, there a a few companys making black powder shot shells.
Gamebore is one of them. Though I have not seen any 10 gauge.
If it shootable with black powder ammo its worth $300 to $400.
If is not, its worth $100.
If its in excellent condition it could worth up to $1000.
English guns can be collectable.
