Question
We recently came across a 12 gauge shot gun with the inscriptions of Choke Bored- Pat appld for Falls Arms Co. Chicopee Falls Ma and then King Bee on the side of the barrel. Can you tell use anything about this gun
Answer
Basically what you have is a Falls Arms shotgun manufactured in chicopee falls, Ma. This is what amounts to a "Trade name" that a company such as sears or montgomery wards or any other store would choose to name the guns they sold. The company that ACTUALLY made this shotgun is Crecent firearms Co. out of chicopee falls, MA, formally of Norwich, CT. They moved to MA because Norwich,CT seized their property for not paying taxes. Steven's arms later purchased the company and is basically what the Savage brand is today. Your Shotgun was made between 1890 and 1932.
I could not find any information on who actually sold Falls Arms shotguns, but around that time they were making the same shotgun for several different stores. A new 12 gauge at the time cost $14 from them.
Hope this helped.
