Question
I have a friend who can't identify the hand gun that she has. I can give you as much info as I can about the gun any hopefully you can tell me what it is and maybe what she can sell it for. It is a 22 revolver, has a gold medallion with a bear on it,has germany on the barrel and the cylinder, has texas scout on the wooden handle.
Answer
Hello Donna,
The revolver you have is a Texas Scout revolver, or also known as HS Model 21. This gun was made in Germany by Herbert Schmidt Ostheim and imported into the United States by Florida Firearms Corp. in Miami, Florida. You can expect the value to be anywhere from $60 to $100 depending on the condition of the gun. They were a cheaply made revolver and have a bad tendency to frequently misfire. Not a bad little gun for the money, but it has no real collectors value and would probably hold more sentimental value than anything if the gun was passed down from family.
Best of luck and hope this helped!
