Question
I, like a lot of others, have been handed down family heirlooms. In this case it is a Fox Sterlingworth 12g. The gun is a double barrel, side by side, with the matching stamped numbers 62053. This was a well used weapon by the looks of it and shows some wear on the butt plate and foregrip. All I really know about it is that it originally belonged to my grandfather. If you can provide any information on this particular weapon, it would be very appreciated.
Answer
Hello Andy. The A.H. Fox Co. was established in 1905 and the Sterlingworth was one of the first shotguns developed in 1910. Your shotgun was manufactured in 1911. It being very collectable, Value is in the neighborhood of $500-$2,000. I hope this helps and thank you for asking for me Charles Gage
