Question
it is a bisley .41 caliber colt revolver with nickle plated handle and the serial number is 227745. Just wondering the history of the gun. It is in excellent condition but definitely has been carried in a holster.
Answer
Hi,
The Bisley model was supposed to be a target model of the Single Action Army.
Bisley name came from the famous firing range in Bisley, England.
This Colt has longer grip, the wider hammer spur and the wide trigger.
It has adjustable sights. It was made from 1894 to 1912.
These are highly collectable
Its worth $1,200 to $25,000 depending on condition and if it is a regular model or flat top target.
Nickle plating adds value.
You may want to get a historical letter from Colt.
Its not cheap.
