Question
i asked a question earlier about a colt 22 and have another about a british 303. the only reason i know this i what it is, is from pictures i have found on it. it is not in the best shape but i am wondering how old and a value. there are several markings on this gun that i have no idea what they are or what they mean. one that is on a few places is "M,47C. on is "1946" just under that it says "EMGLAND". under all that is a serial number "BJ2254" there are a few markings tht i believe are "ANP" OR "RNP". on the back of the barrel where the three letters are it also has ".303 2.222". there is an "18.5" there also along with some symbols and what appears to be "TOMSFER". there are several different symbols stamped on the gun tht i cant really explain. one looks like (x) another looks like a box with something in the center. there are small markings. one looks like a small crown and two others look like and arrow but all parts are equal in length. the clip also has a serial number on it "BJ2254" which matches the one on the gun itself. any info you can provide would be great. also i dont know weather to have this gun redone or just leave it all original. i dont want to hurt the value of the gun. please give me any advice you can. again, thank you and i will wait to hear from you.
Answer
Hi,
In terms of the rifle its Short Magazine Lee-Enfield or Pattern 14 rifle. I can not tell which from the discription.

Value will depend on its exact model and condition.
Fair to poor condition is worth $75 to $125.
I would have local gun store look at it and determine model condition and value.
