mossberg 100 atr 30-06

Hey i have a mossberg 100 atr chambered in 30-06 i hunt i hunt in some thick wooded area in oklahoma and there is only a few long range areas where i hunt the point being is that i would like to put iron sights on my gun plus have the scope for the long range areas where would i buy the iron sights at and around how much would it cost. please help iv asked around and knowbody really knows , thanks

Hello Dalton. First, are you up around Locust Grove or down around Poteau? I'm from Wagner. Now for your question. You are not exactly equipt for your area. A tree stand and an open lane is limiting your hunting space, which is about all you can do with your gun. The term is "over gunned". There really is no purpose to use open sights on your firearm. A .30-06 is too powerful for close range or still hunting in brush or trees. I suggest you get a good brush gun to carry if you are not going to hunt the lanes. But, you did not ask for my opinion on firearms to hunt with. You asked about a buying iron sights for your gun. If you are close to Tulsa, there are several large sporting goods stores that employee excellent gun smiths. The same if you are closer to another large gun shop. A good iron sight set will cost around $85.00 and having them put on, another $50.-$60.00. It will also require a set of see-thru rifle scope rings, which will bring your eye level up some.
